FUCHS Suzhou Plant, the first Industrial 4.0 smart plant in the entire FUCHS Group, obtained the green light from SAIC Volkswagen in its A-Class Supplier Audit in April, 2021. The result is not a surprise. By far, two plants of FUCHS China (Suzhou & Yingkou) have all obtained the A-Class Supplier Certification from the Volkswagen system (including FAW-Volkswagen & SAIC Volkswagen). This June, the Wujiang Plant in Suzhou passed the A-Class Aftersales Accessory New Product Audit, making the Wujiang Plant a Double-A-Class Supplier certified by SAIC Volkswagen.
Volkswagen adopted the VDA6.3 process auditing standards from Germany and its in-house special standards Formel-Q to audit its suppliers. Through passing Volkswagen’s A-Class Supplier Audit, FUCHS China has not only met Volkswagen Group’s requirements for quality in R&D, quality assurance, procurement and logistics, commercial development, on-site management and more, but has posted excellent performance in all respects, making FUCHS China a true core supplier partner of Volkswagen. This audit not only strengthened the existing cooperation between FUCHS and Volkswagen, but secured FUCHS’ eligibility to participate in Volkswagen’s new projects.
Looking back, in just ten days’ time, the auditing team of FUCHS China actively prepared for the audit from Volkswagen. The team exhibited A-Class expertise and proficiency across multiple functions and areas of FUCHS China including its AUTO OEM project, R&D, procurement, planning, production, quality control, equipment, warehousing, logistics, customer service, administration and quality assurance, etc. Everybody was exhilarated with FUCHS China’s passing of Volkswagen’s A-Class Supplier Audit. But what makes everybody prouder is the sheer 92 points FUCHS China scored later in Volkswagen’s Accesory Supplier Audit in June, the highest score ever achieved in SAIC Volkswagen’s assesory business audit to date. This is a testimony to the relenless pursuit for excellence by the FUCHS China auditing team. After ahcieving these spectacular auditng results, by the end of this June, FUCHS has officially supplied 0W20 High-End engine oil and 0W20 Back-Diamond engine oil to SAIC Volkswagen.
The stellar performance in this A-Class certification is the result of excellent execution and teamwork of FUCHS China, reinforced by the initiative and aspiration of each team member. In the process of reviewing the audit, the auditing team generated 11 key improvement measures, providing practice and experience to help FUCHS plants reach “higher and more stringent standards” and deliver sustained and reliable lubricant solutions to its customers.
